HOUSE OF BOING

The Kinetic Collection

The inspiration for the new collection from the House of Boing is Kinetics. Sandra Bamminger has taken inspiration from the sculptures of Naum Gabo whose work incorporates the beauty of actual motion with a sense of sculptures being born.

The collection features crotchet spirals which are used to add weight and shape especially to the skirts. Multicoloured stripes feature strongly in the collection and are used to reflect the general motion of the hemline of each skirt.

Crotchet wool combined with linen and silks make the pieces in this collection highly individual and covetable.

Sandra Bamminger left Austria in 1997 to study Art in England, was accepted into Central Saint Martins the following year where she presented her first collection named 'bouncing' for Graduate Fashion Week. Since then, she has presented subsequent collections at Alternative Fashion Week, held independent shows at the Austrian Embassy, the 1646 in the Haque, showed at the Liverpool Biennial and also at Europe's biggest exhibition space; The Musuems Quartier Vienna.

Sandra is now working closely with the Siobhan Davies Dance Company on a range of commissioned pieces.
